Welcome to Crackpot Cottage - Wild Glamping

Adjacent to the Coast To Coast, The Pennine Way, The Swale Trail and The Herriot Way

Crackpot Cottage is the ideal place to experience the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

There is plenty to do, walk and cycle in Swaledale but if you fancy going a little further afield we are only 30/40 minutes away from very renowned  sites in Wensleydale such as Castle Bolton, Penhill, Aysgarth Falls, Wensleydale Creamery, Hawes, Hardraw Force and Jervaulx Abbey.

We are a family-run smallholding. We grow our own fruit and vegetables and our hens provide us with fresh eggs daily.

We have two glamping venues in our grounds.

Situated in a small hamlet between Reeth and Gunnerside, we are surrounded by the most stunning Swaledale walks, including the renowned Muker - Keld circular and Gunnerside Gill. A gentle evening stroll from Crackpot Cottage will also take you to the outstanding Crackpot Falls or Summer Lodg
e cave and tarn
.

For walkers and cyclists and all of our guests if requested we are able to provide extras services such as packed lunches, safe indoor bike storage, e-bikes battery charging and pick up/drop off.

Reviews
We loved our stay at the cabin! Emanuela and Karen were so helpful with recommendations and the food was delicious. There are nice walks to do around the area and the views of the dales are amazing, especially the riverside walk to Reeth. Definitely recommend staying here for anyone looking to find somewhere peaceful and relaxing, perfect escapism!
Emanuela, your place was idyllic. 100% would recommend to anyone who needs a peaceful break from their normal life. I had real difficulty finding the place but this is completely my own fault, all instructions were sent and well communicated but as a warning to future guests the signal is ideal for getting away from normal busy life but not very good if you completely forget the lovely instructions you very kind host has sent you in advance of turning up. My advice... remember to read all the emails and communication thoroughly before setting off. The perfect get away at a fantastic price!
Dreamy log cabin stay with very welcoming hosts! Lovely remote location with chickens for company and had an amazing evening drinking homemade Crackpot Cottage sloe gin whilst playing dominos :)
Ema and Karen are just fantastic! We had a two night stay here and it was perfect. They were both so welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived to when we had to leave. The cabin is secluded, clean and had everything we needed. Evenings were spent at the fire pit watching the sheep and listening to the chickens chattering to themselves. The homemade pizza and cheese were also very tasty!
